Ode to Old Age

We made it back in time to do a little work on a project we have going in the back yard: a retaining wall. We have bought 4 palettes of bricks and we are about to lay them. We've hired a young man who is a very good worker and he has been ever so helpful. Today I (Jay) went to the ophthalmologist's office [...]

Out for a couple of weeks

In late June, Anita’s shoulder and my eye healed sufficiently to make a little journey on Karina C.

On the road again

05 March 2017 | Singapore Airport
Jay/hot/humid
I am writing this post from the Singapore Airport. Anita is sleeping while we wait for the plane.
Today we had a very unsatisfying tour of the city. It started good enough. We had a 2 hour lunch break at a very expensive mall filled with boutique stores like Gucci and Louis Vuitton. We went over to the food court and had a $14 lunch we washed down with water. The afternoon was off to Chinatown which was a little more pleasing. Anita bought a housecoat and I got a cool T shirt.
We got to the airport at 1600 and soon were in the lineup to check in. One we got up to the checkin spot, they told us Anita didn't have a ticket assigned to her. After a little humming and hawing, they eventually produced a boarding pass for both of us.
We have a 9 hour layover in Beijing and hope to get a hotel room for a little shuteye while we layover.
Thankfully, Chris has offered to pick us up at the ferry, so once we get to the ferry termial, we are just minutes from our bed.
