A warm warm welcome in Bundaberg

Thank you for the advice about navigation! We arrived in Bundaberg a couple of nights ago, having radioed in ahead to book a couple of nights in Burnett Heads marina. After Cairns, it was super reasonable and so we didn't mind the rickety boardwalk and the fact that we were on the fuel berth. It still had all the facilities we needed and we had three people on the dock to take our lines, welcome us for sundowners, give us plenty of advice about the area and lend us a car to head into town and provision. I am constantly astounded by the kindness of the folk we have met along the way on our trip, so thank you Burnett Heads liveaboards!! It was also rather lovely to meet up with Mystig, and American boat with Randy and Jenny on who we have met only by SSB but who had plenty of other cruisers in common with us. It was nice to spend a brief morning with them catching up on what everyone was doing.
Luckily we were able to stock up with choccy for the kids' advent calendars. I can't remember whether I mentioned that Mia had put up the Christmas tree in the Whitsundays and I was made to feel very 'bah humbug' when I said that even though we sail on a catamaran, we still can't really sail with a Christmas tree complete with glass baubles on the table in 25 knot head winds. I don't know what it is about hot climates and Christmas but it just doesn't feel like Christmas yet. I'd best get the festive music on the i pod. Maybe its the thought of lifting Pegasus out of the water and giving her her annual antifoul that's killing any excitement of Christmas for us at the moment. I'm sure once we are house sitting we'll get into the spirit!
