Merry Christmas from Pegasus!

Merry Christmas one and all! We have had a very different Christmas from usual. Firstly, it's been hot. Which has allowed me to take my first ever Christmas day swim in the sea. For years, people have been persuading me that a Christmas Day swim in Jersey is the way to go. But with a temperature of 10 degrees, I ask you, really? But here on the Gold Coast it was a barmy 26 degrees and I didn't even wear my wetsuit!! Secondly, we were in a house! Well, with Pegasus on the hard, it was lovely to be offered a house sit for ten days. Not only that, but we even have a cat and dog to look after which delighted the kids and promoted lots of discussion about what pets we will get when back in the UK.
It's been such a lovely couple of days that I won't even mention the stress of the preceding week (hence my lack of blog entries) whereby we bought a bomb of a car and spent 48 hours making it road worthy (Mark) and registering it (Cath). Many new parts and forms later and we have a set of wheels. That's the short version of the story.
And, I'm ignoring poor Pegasus, who is now out of the water, awaiting new rudder bearings, a saildrive and a lick of antifoul or two. Tomorrow, we will start again working hard to get her ready to import and sell, with a quick road trip to Sydney for New Year flung in for good measure! Can't wait to get antifouling. It could very well be my favourite job ever.
