Puerto Rico Yr 2
20 May 2016
We left the US Virgins to catch up to over friends on At Last, this would be our last few weeks of sailing with them. We had a great sail over and caught up to Dave, Corrine & Libby in Culebreta. We planned on staying here for a while we had a shipment coming from the US. After a few day it did show up at the post office and we installed our new heat exchanger. So we decided to take a day and go visit the the Fajardo on the ferry with Dave and Corrine, it was quite nice but it was an all day event, got to Walmart picked up some much needed supplies, and stuffed ourselves at a buffet restaurant…..yum the food was so good. The next day Dave and Corrine left to head up to Gilligan’s island and we went to the beach and did some snorkeling. After a few more days we found out that our new chart plotter was shipped near San Jaun, and not where it was supposed to be, so we ended up sailing to Fajardo getting a rental car and driving to pick it up, that was a good experience we got to tour the old city and do some more shopping. So off we go sailing again and catch up with At Last stayed one night and both vessels left for Ponce, once there we rented another car for a couple of days, we all needed to provision for Bahamas and Cuba. Our last stop was in Bouqeron, so that was our last sail with our buddy boat, we spent another day together and then I’m said to say it was time to say goodbye. We were together for over 20 months and experienced so many things, lots of good and some bad but all in all it was worth it. At Last left for the long haul to head north back to Canada, Jacobs Ladder left on her own with her crew , and headed to the DR…..it was a sad and lonely day.
