Day Five

10 July 2014 | 36 58.1'N:134 16.1'W, San Francisco is due east
skipper JAM
July 9 We are 560 miles due west of San Francisco. Very concerned about the light winds forecast ahead of us as we have over 1500 miles to go. Marty is our rookie. He felt a little queasy the first few days out but he has adjusted well and is now 100 percent. After he surfed down a wave and hit 19.6 kts he decided that he could now coach the skipper on how to drive. I called it rookie luck but then he started to hit the high teens regularly. I have a feeling our best sailing may be behind us, It has been overcast with a few drizzles so we our sunshine was brief. Maybe tomorrow. We continue to be well fed. Marty broke out his smoked salmon this evening. I'm tired so I think I will hit the rack. As Skipper I have no regular watch so I can sleep when I am tired. As Jones would say, he who writes the checks gets that privilege.
