At last we are out of Lavrio and on the move westwards. It’s funny because we have been in Greece for 8 weeks already but haven’t really felt like we were ‘on holiday’ or cruising yet. When we left Lavrio last time, we had to return to get the new engines serviced when they had done 50 hours then we had to go to Alimos to get some charging issues sorted then we had to come out of the water to get the bow fixed. Don’t get me wrong, Lavrio is a great place and we shared a few great meals with some cracking people but a quintessential Greek island it ain’t!!
Today we left just about dawn and actually sailed, I repeat sailed, with both sails up, 47 miles to Epidavros. We saw the sunrise, we were joined by a dolphin (only the one but that’s better than none), we anchored first time in the lovely bay of Palaia Epidavros and did our first swim off the back of the boat this year.
In addition to all of that, Andy successfully mended and serviced the outboard. Here is a photo of him looking as SAF.
It feels like maybe this amazing trip has begun!
