Bademli, Dikili, Turkey

An unbelivably beautiful, almost untouched anchorage just south of Dikili and north of the Gulf of Çandarlı. Jaya sailed back to Turkey from Lesvos, her port of entry being Dikili (entry procedures were easy and fast thanks to the friendly port officials of Dikili). On the day of arrival, after the entry formalities, we sailed (actually motored against light southerly winds) southwards. We attempted 3-4 times in different spots to anchor but the recently changed aluminium Fortress anchor dragged each time. Thinking each time that the bottom was not good for anchoring, we carried on motoring and reached Bademli at dusk. The wind had died. We dropped the same anchor and stopped. Just after midnight the wind started and we found ourselves dragging again. So many attempts on different spots ... no, it can't be the bottom, it must be the anchor which we were trying the first time today. Back to the original CQR, which held at the first attempt of course. In the morning we opened our eyes to an incredibly beautiful world: calm turquoise waters between two islands of sand and green. A tropical paradise in North Aegean. We stayed here for 3-4 days.

Bademli, Dikili, Türkiye (Eylül başı, 2012) - Dikili'nin biraz güneyinde, Çandarlı Körfezi'nin hemen kuzeyinde inanılmaz güzellikte, neredeyse dokunulmamış bir demir yeri. Jaya Midilli'den ayrılıp Dikili'den Türkiye'ye giriş yaptı (giriş işlemlerini çok kolay ve hızlı bir şekilde hallettik burada, Dikili'nin güleryüzlü liman görevlileri sayesinde). Geldiğimiz gün, işlemleri halleder halletmez Dikili'den ayrılıp, hafif güney rüzgârına karşı motorla güneye doğru yol almaya başladık. Farklı yerlerde 3-4 kez demirlemeyi denediysek de demir tutmadı. Her seferinde deniz tabanının demirlemeye elverişli olmadığını düşünüp biraz daha gide gide akşam karanlığı çökerken Bademli'ye ulaştık. Rüzgâr dinmişti. Demir attık, durduk. Gece yarısından sonra rüzgâr çıktı ve fark ettik ki demir yine tarıyor. Farklı farklı yerlerde bunca denemeden sonra demir tutmadıysa, bunun suçlusu demir olmalı dedik. Zaten bu alüminyum Fortress demiri ilk kez deniyorduk. Yerimizden ayrılıp biraz öteye gittik, bu arada her zamanki CQR demiri hazırladı Mark. Ve de ilk attığımızda tuttu demir. Sabah gözlerimizi rüya gibi bir dünyaya açtık: Kumluk ve yeşillik iki ada arasında çarşaf gibi türkuvaz sular... Kuzey Ege'de bir tropik cennet. 3-4 gün kaldık burada.
