XII Bar Blues has spent a few days in Formentera in the company of the superyacht community and has now returned to Ibiza and worked her way around to Cala Bassa.
The skipper, who prides himself on never having been to a football match, is no fan of the beautiful game but in the closing hours of Saturday evening found himself, perhaps enlivened by the small sherry he had taken earlier, crying " come on you Gahnains" and "Garna, Garna, Garna". It's possible that he had taken against his new Teutonic neighbours who had turned up, somewhat noisily, in the early part of the evening. Sadly his support was insufficient to give the Africans the win over Germany that he feels sure they richly deserved. His interest in footy has now subsided to the usual level of zero.
The pensioners on board had a fairly clear recollection that Sunday lunch was often offered at a deep discount to OAPs so made their way ashore to the Cala Bassa Beach Club ( www.calabassabeachclub.com )to see if there might be egg and chips on offer at attractive rates.
The management of the establishment are still going through reports to find out what's happened to their average age profile.
