We have started
05 May 2014 | St Augustine
Sunny, nice breeze, mid 80's
We left Vero Beach Sunday and traveled 110 miles, a 14 hour day. We bucked the tide almost all day so as things go, the tide was the only bad thing all day. We stopped at Rock House Creek at 730 PM, ate and crashed after an hour of TV. The day was uneventful, perfect, no waves to speak of and little boat traffic. We did see a few dolphins.
On day two, we left Rock House Creek at 730 AM and traveled to St Augustine, today, we saw a lot of dolphin and even though they supposedly don't hear the human voice, I am convinced that Summer has a screeching bark that they hear and respond to. When they swim along side and we watch them, they just swim along and jump occasionally, when Summer starts her screeching, they jump up and turn sideways, looking up at her, it is a sight, and Summer screeches all the more, it actually hurts my ears but we let her do it because it is so amazing to see her interact with them.
Today, another uneventful day, nice cruise, took on about 80 gallons of fuel and anchored for the night, tomorrow we are probably going on the outside up to Fernandina Beach where we will duck in and go to Cumberland Sound. We are making good progress so far but will stop in Brunswick until Sunday night. More tomorrow. One of these times I will record Summer, it is highly annoying.
