pushing HARD, orders from the Admiral
12 May 2014 | Tom Point Creek MM 495
nice, warm, sunny
Last night, we continued past New Tea Kettle and anchored instead, in Cattle Pen Creek, had a peaceful night but the bugs, oh the damned bugs so Bessie said, get me the hell out of bug country. Now, those of you who don't know, bug country supposedly ends once we hit the dismal swamp, we'll see about that but regardless, we are moving and moving as fast as a slow boat will move so today, we traveled 130 miles (had the tide with us for a lot of the day), from 0600 to 2000 (6AM to 8PM). Tomorrow, we will do the same thing and push from here all the way to Bull creek, just short of Osprey Marina. Long days but weather permitting, we will be in Virginia by the weekend (sometime). And generally, the bugs on the Chesapeake are much kinder than these No-Seeums.
