Still kicking around Georgetown
25 February 2014 | Sand Dollar Beach
Sunny, upper 70's to low 80's, breezy
We are still here, weather is still perfect and we are getting to look like the natives with our tans. This has been Regatta week and we've watched some of the racing and attended a few parties, have has a great time and have met so many great people. This week we will continue to enjoy, snorkel, swim, walks on the beautiful beaches, a little yoga and of course, relax some more. We have been to dinner a few times out on the town and it truly is hit or miss on the food, some is gross enough that you want to never go out and try your luck again, some is very good and some is ok but mostly, not very good. On board Summer Snow, haven't had a bad meal yet so needless to say, we eat mostly on board. The sunsets, sunrises and night sky are beautiful and the Big Dipper upside down is interesting. The plan is to leave here either this Thursday and head over to Long Island, then Rum Cay and then Conception (Columbus' first landing sight in the new world) but we are up in the air on doing this trip. If we don't, we might hold off and do it next week as part of the Long Island Regatta but again, that is up in the air depending on weather; if we don't do either of those we will head back north in the Exuma Islands and stop at some of the sights we skipped on the way down, specifically Warderick Wells (a forever wild park with reefs, birds, and all things nature) then up to Shroud Cay, also a park sight with lots of shallow reefs perfect for Kayaking over the tops). Eventually we will make our way back to a staging point for crossing back to Florida. We plan to be back in Florida no later than April 11th (Vero Beach).
