Departing Muros at 0730 hrs this morning after a peaceful night on anchor looked quite promising with regards to wind speed and direction. Although motoring out the bay initially, sails were soon out and the 45 Nm to our lunch spot anchored at Isla de Cies soon approached. Since leaving England, this is the first decent sail that we have had. At last! The sun is now shining every day and plenty of sun cream is the order of the day. The lunch spot today actually turned into a lunch/dinner spot in the end; although not a secluded enough anchorage for overnighting, it was more than adequate for an extended day stop. I decided to cook dinner there so after eating and clearing up, we departed Isla Cies for Ensenada de Barra, about 3 Nm away, in search of an anchoring spot out of the wind. Great - spotted a fantastic location with no-one else there - fantastic. After half an hour of trying to get the anchor to set, I think we realised why no-one else was anchored there! We joined the rest of the boats in the bay, dropped anchor, and have been sitting here peacefully on deck since that moment with the anchor firmly locked into the sea bed. A leisurely start tomorrow to complete the final 10 Nm to Baiona where we will staying until the 21st July before departing to Portugal, our next country on route.
