A great pizza last night, a reasonably early start this morning, a short call to Bermuda Harbour Radio for clearance to exit 'The Cut', and at 10-30 am the anchor was retrieved and we were on our way. Mark at the helm, Clare on the camera, and me making the tea. We have had a great start today; warm sunny weather, about 15 knots of wind from the south west, and quite a flat sea. So far, so good. The next few days looks variable, with anything from strong to light winds, but no major low pressure systems like the one that hit us at anchor in Bermuda. Mark is busy making some fresh bread and a thai chicken curry for dinner tonight, I have been teaching Clare how to use the sextant and work out where we are. Using the sun today, we have worked out our position to within 6 Nm of where the GPS says we actually are. This is good enough when you are in the middle of an ocean with 1900 Nm to go! Still, more practice and we should be able to get to within 2 or 3 Nm. There is a massive bank of fog approaching us at the moment which has reminded all of us of the horror film 'The Fog'. I hope the outcome is not the same!
