Well, the aim of spending a day actually in Bayona was to allow for some photo opportunities. Alas, it absolutely tipped it down all day, our worst rainfall since Dartmouth! The boat was long overdue a deep cleaning session inside and out, so this was asopted as the alternate plan for the day. To celebrate cleaning and tidying the boat, and our last night in Bayona, we decided to go out for a decent meal in the old quarter of the town and found an excellent restaurant called Taberna del Azafran. Mark T and I both opted for the steak, whilst Tracey had a small rack of lamb. All washed down with a bottle or two of Casa Castillo red wine, we can highly recommend this restaurant. It has quiet, mellow music playing in the background, and very attentive staff who could cope with our 'Anglo-Espanol'. It is now Saturday morning and the sun is beginning to break through, so the photo opportunity may well present itself after all. We are moving onto anchor just outside of the marina in the bay today which will give us an extra day in the city, but without the marina charges which are usually about 24 pounds a day in Spain. This compares with about 38 pounds a day in the UK! A short dinghy trip is all that is required to get us ashore. So, this is our last blog update from Spain until we reach the Andalucian coast, so, Portugal, here we come!
