Having enjoyed the busy Easter Regatta at Bequia, we decided to head back to the Tobago Cays again for some more turtle and stingray spotting opportunities. So, anchor up at 6-45am, and we set sail south in a Force 6 wind, but relatively calm sea. By 12-15pm, after 28 Nm, we dropped the anchor about 20 metres from where we were last time we were here and were immediately greeted by 4 turtles swimming near the boat. They must have remembered us I think...Well, it is certainly windy here at the moment and the chop on the sea is preventing us from getting ashore in the dinghy. We had an unexpected visit this afternoon from a couple, Gordon and Susan, from a Westerly Ocean 43, a rare boat, called Suhaili moored about 200 metres from us. We were invited over for drinks early this evening and had a very enjoyable chat, gleaming many snippets of information from their extensive travels aboard Suhaili, particularly involving travelling north towards and on the Intra Coastal Waterway up the east coats of the USA which we are interested in following at some time in the future, but not for a few years yet. The journey to and from Suhaili in the dinghy was both exciting and extremely wet, the wind having now risen to a steady 25 knots and whipping the sea up quite viciously. Still, we made it back in the dark (somehow) to QUASAR IV, dried out on board, and enjoyed a peaceful dinner looking at the night sky with its crystal clear star formations - the advantage of no light pollution! The end of another day in paradise draws to a close....
