With the wind subsiding, 'Julia Max' moved first to Shearwater for fuel and provisions, and then on to a favorite anchorage at Alexander Inlet. The key to this day was travelling west in Seaforth Channel and then north in Millbank Sound which leads to the channels and passages that make their way to Prince Rupert. Before the winds subsided, the seas were sufficiently steep to make this impossible. While briefly back in Shearwater, the Harbormaster commented that they had experienced winds up to 50 knots, causing several waterspouts in the general waterway near the marina. Glad we were in a couple protected coves when this occurred.
