Itchy feet dictated moving on. So Sunday morning we headed out at 0615 to reach Larsen Harbour as our jump off point for Haida Gwaii (The Queen Charlotte Islands). All was fine motoring until 1220 when we put up our sails (Jib and Jigger), and spent two hours in NW 25-27 knot winds. Before entering this protected harbour, we took our sails down, and motored. Then entering this tiny harbour between rocks, kelp beds, and breaking swells took all of our attention. It continued to blow all afternoon, but now at 10:00pm the winds have died down to NW 8. The Gale is supposed to continue for the next couple of days, so we plan on hunkering down for the stronger winds to subside.
