Tongue Point is an old WWII anchorage for Liberty Ships going into the Pacific Theater. Today it is a protected anchorage from wind and wave at a predictable 15-20' depth. Winds are light in here, but the weather forecast for Saturday on the lower Washington coastline includes Small Craft Warnings NW10-25 with 6-8' seas and a 1-2' chop. Not what we wanted! But Sunday sounds like the winds will be light and variable. For now, we will sit at anchor, enjoy the Common Loon fishing nearby, and maybe get out in the kayaks for some exercise.
