Having suffered a broken engine December 23 as we left Miami heading south, we have been ever hopeful for its repair and our resuming our trip. It's been an incredibly long time. However, the engine has been repaired and shipped back from Wisconsin--hard to believe! We are hopeful that it will be re-installed this week so that we can re-board and continue our travels.

Although the boat is in the Miami boatyard, we are in our condo in Punta Gorda grateful in many ways that we had a place to go while the engine was being repaired. We still don't know exactly what happened since there is no exterior evidence of damage. All we know is that what did happen was a freak occurence. A rod in the engine broke. Fortunately, we were in the states and able to wait out repairs comfortably.
