A Dog's (Boat) life

Maggie
Hi, I'm Maggie, a 12-year old Golden Retriever. I didn't get to go to the Bahamas this winter. Instead my masters took me to Omaha, NE to stay with their sons. I never saw this white powder humans call snow before. Apparently SOMEONE forgot that I was a princess!
I finally came back to live with my masters this April and we headed out on the boat. I had sailed before, but have to admit I am more of a marina dog. I like to be on deck while we move along as long as we don't heal too much. If we do, I like to find a place where I won't slide around too much.
So far on this trip we have only been at anchor 3 nights. I do like to go to shore on the dinghy, but when I return, I prefer to lay around in an air conditioned cabin. My opion is "why change now?"
What I can't figure out is why no one allows me to swim in all the water around us. I heard someone talk about alligators, but don't know why they would be a problem.
What I do like about this trip is all the new smells and all the new people that I get to check out. I also like being around my masters and being able to touch their feet. I have to admit it is my OCD.
What I dont' like is the thunder and lightning. On a boat, there is no place you can get away from it. I just don't understand my masters are not as upset about it as I am. I guess I still have a lot to teach them.
