Dinghy Skeg

Sun Doggie

D4 Dinghy Alternative Seats
The rain event was more wind than rain, strong winds with gusts up to 44 mph. We drove into town to see what the harbor was like. There was a small sailboat that had dragged anchor and was sitting close to shore. The tide was out. We left and played with Bleu at Notter’s Pond.

D4 Inside Seams
Day two of the dinghy build started out with me finishing wiring the hull bottoms together on the centerline of the bottom panels. This was much easier than the wiring of the chine edges of the bottom panels and the side panels.
After the Flood

The weather was chilly and mostly rainy. It was hard to get motivated in the raw crappy weather. The 420 dinghy was full of water. It had filled with rainwater until it overflowed into the centerboard case and began draining. After pumping it out, a huge amount of wet leaves had to be removed. They had covered everything, the decks, the dock, the entire area.

The picture is of a local dock and the aftermath of the flooding. The dock is mostly underwater and a sailing dinghy is capsized near the shore. The flood waters persisted for a couple of days. The storm did not go away up north as expected. It stalled out over the Susquehanna and poured down rain that caused all this flooding.

Having so much rain fall on the catamaran made it easy to test for leaks in the new hatch, also to test for leaks anywhere else. Oddly, I had to use the hose on the dock to further test wherever there was evidence of a leak, to find the actual source of the leak. Now it looks like further work on the catamaran will be confined to interior. Time to get the heaters out of storage.
