Dinghy Skeg

D4 Dinghy Alternative Seats
The rain event was more wind than rain, strong winds with gusts up to 44 mph. We drove into town to see what the harbor was like. There was a small sailboat that had dragged anchor and was sitting close to shore. The tide was out. We left and played with Bleu at Notter’s Pond.

In spite of another day of hot and humid unhealthy weather, work continued on the stack pack. It was obviously too loose, so clamps were temporarily fastened to the battens at the ¼ and ¾ points, a sling attached, and the battens hoisted to tension the stack pack just like it would be on lazy jacks. Then measurements were taken of excess cloth.

The empty stack pack was taken up to the sail shed and, with the top edges lined up with each other, the excess cloth was marked and a seam sewn lengthwise at the bottom. The stack pack was then taken down to the boat and filled with sail again. Here is a picture of it zipped up, sitting on the ladder on sawhorses. It is a little snug, I may let it out a few inches.
