We're Here!!

Kalan Harvey/ sunny wind gusts to 40mph
Well, we finally made it to Echo's new slip in Ingleside Tx. It took a week to clean all the mold and mildew off her, and get her prepped for live-aboard conditions, but it's finally done. We have moved aboard, and will continue the repairs to her flooring and hatch ways. Our neighbors here in the marina are very helpful, and I have grown quickly fond of our impromtu BBQ's with them on the patio in the evenings. The only really bad thing is the wind, hard to get much done above deck without things blowing off! I have been scraping the barnacles off her hull, using my snorkel mask and fins, and an old scraping tool. We did have a fancy new scraper, but Richard dropped it, and I haven't been able to find it on the bottom, some where under the keel. All that's left of the barnacles are some on the very bottom of the keel. It's been a really good week, and so far, all is going well.

Looks like we are the owners of Echo, a 41ft Morgan Out Island sloop. She's gonna need a lot of work, but it's gonna be worth it!! I can't wait to live aboard her!!

About: Richard and I have been married 32 years, and have 3 children and 8 grandchildren. We were the previous owners of a 30ft Cal, and loved sailing her. We are going to be the owners of a 41ft sloop named Echo.
Extra: We are going to have to do almost a complete refit on Echo, stem to stern, and although it's a little daunting, I'm really looking forward to making her into the "boat of our dreams". We are looking forward to living aboard her full time!
