Greatings from Chub Cay

Well, we finally got off the dock! We left Miami Monday, July 27 and went to Bimini. After clearing customs, getting a SIM card, meeting tons of locals and having some awesome conch salad at Stewarts blah, blah, blah we headed for Gun Cay. As we were cruising those 12 miles, I looked at Marisela and [...]

Delays, Delays but we will be leaving soon!

Wow! How frustrating can contractors be? We are still on the dock due to boat enhancement delays (if you need the name of a contractor to NOT use on your boat, contact me) but we will be departing soon. Headed to the Exumas for a while, see where we will go from there. We did a nice two week trip to [...]

As we were cruising those 12 miles, I looked at Marisela and said "Hey babe, want to go dive the Sapora wreck?" We sailed around the wreck when we were here in January but it was too cold to dive it. So we diverted to the Sapora and had a great dive. Then down to Gun Cay and as I was diving the anchor to check the set, I found a conch. Marisela jumped in and found about a dozen. Then we went to the beach the next day and found another dozen! So we have been having great conch everything.
After a couple of days at Gun we pulled up the anchor and headed to Chub Cay. 78 nm in 11 hours across the Bahama Bank and the Tongue of the Ocean, we arrived Thursday night. We have been exploring the area in the dingy and went snorkling on Saturday. If you go to our Facebook page (SV Kasoumai) you can see the octopus Marisela pryed out of the rocks. Timorrow we are headed to Highbourn Cay in the Exumas. We will update you from there!

Headed to the Exumas for a while, see where we will go from there. We did a nice two week trip to the Abacos back in June. Check the Facebook page (SV Kasoumai) for photos of that trip.

Stay turned for more updates!
