Staged and Ready to Cross
12 January 2015 | Lake Worth, Florida
Debbie
After two more nights and two more daily walks on the nearby beach, on Sunday we hauled anchor and departed from Peck Lake at mid-day. During our time there, we got to see two manatee swim through the anchorage, and Kevin provided assistance using our dinghy to help an aground sailboat - it took a total of three dinghies to get her moving again. We anchored in Hobe Sound, just off the waterway, after motoring about an hour and a quarter yesterday.
Today's passage began shortly before 9:30 AM. We transited six opening bridges, got to see a manatee, two dolphin, and stopped to top off fuel and water shortly before anchoring at 2:30 PM, just south of the Lake Worth Inlet.
Tomorrow morning, following confirmation that the currently forecasted weather window has not changed, we plan to depart Lake Worth to cross to the Bahamas. During our time in the Bahamas, we will post updates to the blog whenever we have access to internet service, which could be intermittent as we cruise through the more remote islands. As always, we will look forward to reading your comments as we have opportunities to read them!
The above photo is from October 29th as we sailed wing-on-wing.
