On Monday, March 23rd, while waiting for the strong westerly winds to subside to the forecasted light and variable, Kevin cleaned the spark arrester on the carburetor. In the late afternoon we motor-sailed less than an hour and dropped the hook off Manjack and Crab Cays.
Tuesday we snorkeled the large coral heads off the westerly mid-point of Crab Cay, and then the more easterly wreck at the southern edge of the anchorage. Then, we dinghied out between the two islands and walked the beach along the northerly shore of Crab Cay. Following that we headed over for our first time for some shore exploration on the southeastern shoreline on the Atlantic Ocean side of Manjack Cay. We got to see numerous schools of fish and other marine life, including many starfish and live Queen Conch, two Lionfish, two Grouper, one Porcupinefish, and one live crab hiding with a large Parrotfish.
