Punta Galera

Roger
It is nearly 10am and we're passing a couple of miles off Punta Galera. Puerto Escondido, our destination, is 38 miles away. We had the spinnaker up from midday yesterday until 1am, reaching 8 knots sometimes and running at over 7 knots for much of the time. For us, that's fast!
It's calm now, with almost no wind. The sky is clear. We can see the surf breaking on the shore, a couple of miles away. Cat's Paw IV is about 4 miles ahead of us. We have made up nearly 40 miles on them sailing, but they seem to be able to motor faster than us, so it's a standoff right now! They, too, are making for Escondido.
