Our 'India Adventure' begins in Mumbai (Bombay). We arrived early in the morning, tired after the red-eye from Singapore, and were greeted with sights and sounds (mostly honking - man they love to honk their horns here!!!) that had our heads spinning.
It was an hour's drive from the airport to the hotel we had pre-booked - something we usually don't do - but our Indian visa required it.
Mumbai, from what we saw in the 4 days we spent there, was impressive with huge colonial era buildings, looking somewhat weather beaten, although some were bedecked in scaffolding and being renewed.
We had a great hotel room that over looked Mumbai Harbour near the Gateway of India and the iconic hotel; Tah Mahal Palace, Mumbai.
Every day we were out and about exploring and on our final day, we went to the National Gallery of Modern Art and saw the paintings and sketches of renowned Indian artist Gopal Ghose - who much inspired Zoe. We also saw amazing bronze sculptures of another Indian artist, but unfortunately, I can't remember his name.
We picked up our backpacks and headed to the train station where were boarded an overnight train to Delhi.
