A 20 minute panga ride across the bay from the anchorage brought us to the town of Manzanilla. Small, rustic town, but very clean and with a great cafe, excellent restaurants and many options for provisioning. Even found some sugar cane. Fantastic lunch and setting at Martin's. Had a couple of boats (Mulan and Ohana) over for beers -- great fun with seven kids playing hide and seek on the boat!

Christmas Sunrise! On the way to Tenacatita, we saw an orca! It was coming up to breathe and Evett,my mom spotted it. Its dorsal fin was huge! It was the first orca we saw on our whole trip.

Seas smoothed out some and it is pitch black and very quiet. A wave pattern is expected to come down the coast in the next few days, so we're working on the plan to avoid anything unpleasant. Tenacatita should be well protected, even though the waves will shift and come in from the SSW, right into the bay.

Someone got their hair braided! Quiet Christmas Eve with everyone relaxing after dinner. We're all anxious to see if Santa can find us again this year. Small swells from the north and 10 knots of wind but it is dead astern. We're now planning to pull into Tenacatita Bay early tomorrow morning for at least a day or so.
