Family Cruising Adventures on the Pacific West Coast

Great Christmas Eve sail heading out of Banderas Bay with the new genoa. The wind died as we exited the Bay, but then picked back up after rounding Cabo Corrientes. We hooked into something fun, probably a crevelle jack based on the way he fought, but he went under the boat and broke the line. Hopefully Santa will find us again this year out on the coastal Pacific.

Dorado!

After almost three years and several strikes from dorado, but none that resulted in one on board, we simultaneously hooked and landed two perfect dorados! On a beautiful downwind sail, with Kirstin at the helm, two of our three reels began to scream. Soon the fish were jumping clear of the water and fighting mightily. The teamwork was great and the fish were landed flawlessly. A wonderful mid-afternoon experience on an especially enjoyable day sailing out to Rocca Corbetena and back from Yelapa.

Hanging out for a few days in Yelapa, one of our most favorite things to do.

Nothing like some M&M's and an iPod to make night watch go well!
