Island Cruising
16 July 2009 | Lady Musrave Island
16th July
We found reasonable shelter at Rooney Point but about midnight the wind changed and it became very uncomfortable so set sail for Lady Elliot Island about 1am. It was a beautiful night and we sailed at about 5.5 knots under headsail only. It soon became obvious that there was no decent shelter at Lady Elliot so we then sailed a further 20 miles to Lady Musgrove Island in fabulous conditions arriving about 1500. We are anchored in about 7m and can see the bottom clearly. Today the weather is clear and a 15 knot wind from the south is keeping the temp. down to about 20. We plan to stay here at least 3 days
