90 miles to go!
We are going well. The wind is coming from behind, the waves are okay and it's warm. We are doing speeds around 6.5 knots and tomorrow morning we should be arriving in paradise.
We started to get some squalls during our third night and one of the panels of the main sail opened. We spent a good part of the following day (yesterday) fixing it. We had some breaks in the work when the showers hit us. Last night we used two genoas (head sails), one to each side of the boat and we maintained a good speed all night.
Today we finish to 'suture' the sail and it's already up and running. After getting a mahi mahi in the first day we had all kind of fish dishes. For lunch today we had fish on mustard and white sauce with mashed potatoes, very nice. In Suvarrow there is no ciguatera and we can catch fish, so Werner decided not to put the line out today in case we get a big fish and then he can't go fishing soon!
The atoll we are going is part of Cooks Islands and it's a marine reserve. There are two caretakers there and the only people that normally go there are the sailing cruisers. For us, this stop it's like saying goodbye to our cruising life, this is one of the last long stops we will do before we go back to land life.
At the moment we are doing 7.5 knots, direction of 266, wind of 12 knots and our position is 13' 16.7S: 161' 33.1W.
