Detour to Bermuda

Our dilemma was now what do we do?? To head back to the US was 700 miles, to our destination St. Martin was 700 miles and the closest island, Bermuda, was 200 miles. We secured the failed forestay (Furling Jib sheet) changed our course, turned on the iron sails (motor) and limped our way to Bermuda. This would possibly mean travelling through some nasty weather that we were trying to avoid.
