Sisters and Scrabble

My Aunt Nancy (left) is 91, her younger sister, my mom is turning 88 this summer. They, along with their younger brother are fierce competitors when playing Scrabble. They are all skilled but play with a generous dose of laughter. However, it's serious business! This scene captures the start of a game between the two sisters the other night. They each drew a tile to determine who would start and each drew a u. Highly unusual. They drew again, this time drawing 2 l's. Ok, try again. Then mom drew 6 vowels and one consonant. She was dismayed. Aunt Nancy drew one vowel and 6 consonants including q, x, z, m, j and h. She was aghast. They showed each other what they drew and started to laugh so hard that all progress stopped for a good 5 minutes. I won't tell you who won. These moments are what we came home for.
