Meeting People

Thank you to the two couples who made a point of introducing themselves to us after recognizing us from the blog. They both said they’re avid followers which is very flattering. We don’t typically get a lot of comments on the blog and if there’s a way to determine how many hits the blog gets, I don’t know it. So it’s wonderful when people stop to talk and tell us they’ve enjoyed what we’ve posted. That’s happened in the BVI and Culebra and we often hear from folks that they’ve been keeping up with us. Last night we attended a dinner for the Salty Dawg crowd and saw our dear friend Tatja from s/v Borealis. We asked if she knew Skip and she said she did and in fact had recently seen a photo of him on the blog. And you know what makes this even sweeter? Everyone asks about Luna. The couple we met at the show asked, “Where’s Luna?”. And the couple from Nova Scotia who dingied by and told us they spent many a cold night reading Skylark’s blog spoke to Luna as though they were close friends. Luna confided in me later that she feels like a celebrity and wondered if she might carry a pencil when we walk in case anyone asks for her autograph. I fear all this notoriety will go to her head and she’ll become impossible to live with.
