Settling In for Time Being

We are right beside the SW 7th Ave Bridge which opens on request, day and night, constantly other than during rush hour. In this photo you can see it's opened with a ferry going under. It's a noisy slip, probably the noisiest they have on site but we get the best Internet here because we're right across from the office. The laundry and bathrooms are also within a few feet away making life convenient, albeit loud. Clang, clang, clang, thump, crash, boom. Between trucks driving over the bridge, huge boats driving below it, and the opening and closing of the bridge, we might as well live in downtown Manhattan. There is never a dull moment.
We have delayed our passage to the Bahamas until we receive some important documents we're waiting on. We were going to leave without them but when we recalled how difficult it is getting mail from the US once we're in the Islands, we opted to cool our jets and wait things out. Are we disappointed not to be leaving with this next window Sunday or Monday? Yes and no. We're eager to be on our way, but there are real benefits to staying put and getting some important work done with facilities and resources at our doorstep. Ed has a few boat projects he wants to complete and I have deep cleaning that is calling my name. I wish I had a different name because it's my least favorite activity.
