We're Really Leaving Now

Every day since we've been in here Ed and I look at each other and one of us will say, "Do you want to leave today?" The other will say, "Sure, where should we go?" And then there's a little more conversation and before we know it we haven't gone anywhere. It happens here in Caneel Bay--we've heard of others with the same experience. You get royally pissed off by the constant rolling from the incessant ferries between 7AM-6PM (this photo shows one of the ferries leaving the harbor. If it turns right at the channel markers, the mooring field is just around that corner). You threaten to be "outta here!" You mean it! But you don't leave. In between the rolling, something happens and you stay put. You just sit here enjoying the beach, the hikes, the town, the free wifi. Next thing you know, you've been here for way longer than intended. But this morning, we are REALLY leaving. We'll meet friends down the way before planning our next move to St. Maarten.
