Luna and Ed

19 April 2015 | USVI Saint John, Cruz Bay
Elizabeth
In the National parks of St. John, Caneel Bay being one of them, dogs are allowed on the trails but not the beaches. That's fine and dandy if you're a land dweller. But how, we wonder does a dog get to the trail from a dinghy and from a trail to a dinghy without walking on the beach, especially since the trails are off the beaches paralleling our mooring field. The answer is quickly. We've been asked in the past by a park ranger who passed us as we were in the dinghy heading back to Skylark whether Luna had been on the beach. We said "No". That wasn't entirely true. We don't let her play or run on the beaches, however and she's happy enough being told to get in the water pronto. She sees nothing wrong with that whatsoever. I'm sure she wonders why she can't race down the sand like she did in the Bahamas every day but as I've said many times before, she's a very good sport.
