Our friends on s/v Babe! and s/v Spent helped make Ed's 60th birthday a grand affair. We invited them over for brunch yesterday and as we were down below getting ready for guests, we heard a commotion on the finger dock, people singing loudly. We popped our heads up and there were Geoff, Sue, Paul and Trish carrying balloons, a large birthday cake, sweets from the bakery and other gifts, singing a loud rendition of Happy Birthday. The fanfare kicked off a day and evening of celebration for someone who is most deserving of such attention but who shuns the limelight before the blink of an eye. It was fun and festive morning.
