Getting Settled

We spent one night at Ft. Pierce before continuing up to Vero Beach to the City Marina. This shot is of the North Bridge in Ft. Pierce opening for us as we headed out two mornings ago. Several days or more of convective squalls are forecast for the rest of the week and we wanted to be settled for those. Vero Beach is a two hour motor trip up from Ft. Pierce but when we're ready to continue our northbound passage we'll have to return to the inlet at Ft. Pierce and thus do some backtracking. Not the end of the world by any means. We heard that Vero is a great town with a dog park across from the marina and we wanted Luna to get a treat for being a perpetual good sport. I said to Ed just the other day, "Yeah, OK, good for Luna but where's my treat?" Just kidding, I'm not that good a sport. Anyway, not only is there a large and active dog park here but a free bus with a stop at the marina to take us to town with transfers to places anywhere on the island. Not bad. We like it here.
