This past weekend are the started the process of shaping the bowsprite - actually going along better and faster than I thought, thanks to the electric planer.
Have the basic shape done - it tappers both on the sides and also along the top and bottom. Started to radius the corners- this is taking a long time. Saturday went to the boat and took measurements and radius - tomorrow will make templates. Cutting off and trimming the inboard end of this large piece of wood.
I think I may have found my combination of stain and varnish for the teak bulkhead! Brought some Interlux Goldspar satin varnish- a very heavy amber tinted varnish. First test looks good!
