Kuna House

We are enjoying some rest and relaxation! Anchored next to a small island that is very busy. This island use to have a foundation of brick, that looked like a home was going to be built. We learned from locals that about 6 years ago a Kuna man found some drugs floating in the water. He took the drugs and sold them for lots of money. He took the money and bought this island and started to build a house. The owner of the drugs found out about what this Kuna man did with his drugs and had him killed. Since then, the island has been abandoned until now. We learned from Lisa that a new family has bought the island and is building a home. They have done a lot of work on this small island. Taking down all of the brick foundation, cleaning up all the brush and small trees. He has also made a retaining wall around the island. Now he is building a house with some help from friends. It is very interesting to watch. Amazing how they are building it by climbing up and securing it with rope. Now they are waiting for roofing.
