Denny, wind and sun
Marsh Harbor, The winter northern fronts are still rolling threw the aria on a weekly basis. When the wind comes from the West or North West most anchorages are exposed to the weather. this makes Marsh Harbor a little crowded. We are used to lots of anchor space so it is a little frustrating to see boats so close together. There are several boats here that have limited anchoring experience and it shows. Are new afternoon activity is to sit in the cockpit and watch as people come and go. If someone tries to anchor to close to someone else the international sign for your to close is displayed. This is to stand on the front of your boat with you hands on your hips with elbows out to the side. We call this showing you "Bitch Wings". If you get the Bitch Wing sign but think your ok then you hold your arms out to the side with there palms facing up and shrug there shoulders. This starts a "Stare off". At this point either the new boat moves or he anchors and ignores the other boat. The boat next to us is frustrated with at least 4 different boats around him and spends most of his day staring and each boat with bitch wings fully displayed. No one can understand what his problem is. We are all getting a laugh at his expense. Tonight the wind is supposed to blow and change direction to the north or north east. I hope no one hits our neighbors boat. I would hate to think he was right about his concerns. For now though I think I will have another beer and watch the anchorage dance.
