We have slowed way down! Most cruisers left this morning right at sunrise. Not Kokomo, we wanted to explore. We had breakfast and coffee, launched the dinghy and went to shore. Not bad of a landing. We saw these umbrella's for shade along the beach with an outlook for a lifeguard (photo above). Didn't look like many people use the shade or have a life guard. We started to walk the beach and I took off my sandals. This may not seem like a big deal to most, but to me I can't remember the last time I did this. I have a shorter leg than the other so I have to wear shoes/sandals all the time, but because of the sloop of the beach I walked barefoot in the warm surf and sand at least one way. We'll see tomorrow if my back goes out. We saw homes boarded up (Denny thinks because of hurricane season), a trailer park and fish camp, and not many people around. We almost got to the hotel on the western shore of the bay named Hotel Bahia Los Frailes, not much going on there either. Our dinghy through the surf was timed perfectly and we didn't get wet, at least I didn't get wet!
We had a sunset swim, shower, and I felt like it was Wednesday, so I asked Denny to make me a happy hour brandy Manhattan, so he did and it tasted so good! It is amazing to watch at sunset the pongas come in. It's like at sunset the whistle blows and they all come to shore. The way they do it is, they time the waves, unlatch the motor and gun it to shore. But we tried this but the dinghy wheels are better.
Had a lovely dinner of chicken, baked potato with veggies. We finished our night out with a couple of night caps of El Jimador - oooooh, miss you Pat & Christine!
After ten years of planning a trip around the world, we have given up our life on land to head to bluer pastures with the hopes of staying young as long as possible. Our mission is to have fun while moving about the earth. [...]When we finally return to dry land for good, we hope to have seen most of the worlds shore line and experienced things that can only be experienced at 5 knots Of course if we find a place we like and stay there for an extended time, that's ok too.
We have two boys and two grandson's and several friends and family of all ages. Our hope is that those we know will decide to spend some time with us. Life is enjoyed most when you share it with those your closest to.
