Things to Ponder

The wind has died down and we are moving along after staying in one place for 5 days, actually it was pretty nice as I got out the sewing machine and made up some covers for the diesel cans. We are spending one night at Isla Coronados. This island has a distinctive volcanic cone rising to a height of 928 feet. The rising peak and rough dark lava rock contracts sharply with the low white sand spit stretching from the island's corners. There are some beautiful beaches and turquoise colored waters that you can see so clearly 15 feet down. When we set our anchor in 17' of water we could see the anchor dug in nicely and was very well set. We went ashore and took a walk to the other side of the island where we found just one sailboat in the anchorage. We are the only boat in our anchorage, and that called for a celebration! So we took off our clothes and sunbathed!

Things to ponder: Why is that every time I want to loosen a screw it's rusted or frozen in place and it won't move? Yet everyday I have to go around the boat and tighten screws that are loose.
After 8 days in the Loreto area, we are headed north. But not before seeing 6 fishing boats full of fisherman, fishing the north-east shore of Isla Corandos. The whole area makes me smile, thinking of Mike, Steve, Richard, John and others that come to Loreto annually for fishing. Of course we are fishing but so far only fishing and no catching. This is a beautiful place!
