Entering Santa Rosalia

16 December 2010 | Santa Rosalia
Denny/Clear 74 degrees
Santa Rosalia, it feels like we made it to the end but we all know the trip is just getting started. Since leaving Cabo, this has been the place we were headed for Christmas and while we were in no hurry to get here, it does feel like an accomplishment.

On our journey here, several people asked what marina we would stay at. The old junky one or the new one. Of course we would say, "the old one". I was a little nervous about what to expect as we were told it's bad. Well, the people telling us this have not had a boat in Tyee Marina in Tacoma. When we pulled up to the dock, we had three gentlemen greet us, help us dock and told us where to go to check-in. There are only 10 slips, wood docks that rock side to side with lose boards, is something we're use to. And the office, short a little paint it's nice. You sign-in and they take care of the Mexican check-in process for you. Bring your laundry or propane tank to the office and that afternoon at your boat you will find clean and folded laundry and a full propane tank. All charges are put on a sheet with your boat name and when you leave you pay up. How would that work in Tacoma? In the office is a cooler full off beer. Have one, mark it on your tab and your done.
