Twelve days ago Becky and I went on a walk but a Hospital got in the way. This time we walked right by the Hospital and went to the historic hotel for breakfast. The building was being restored to its original 1890's look. This might be the only place in Mexico that the buildings are all made from wood. When the French made a deal with Mexico to mine copper in Santa Rosalia, they brought in their own engineers and built the town the way they knew how. Importing wood from the USA. The hotel and all the buildings around it are now in some stage of fixing as time and termites have taken their toll. Between the buildings are several train engines and cars from the 1890's. In one building there are displays of desks with adding machines and typewriters. I wish my kids could see this as they would have no idea what some of this stuff was used for. It was good spending time on my feet. Yesterday was a good day!
After we ate breakfast, we went on a tour of the hotel. We saw a parrot in a cage that reminded me of my own African Grey Parrott - Digger.
After ten years of planning a trip around the world, we have given up our life on land to head to bluer pastures with the hopes of staying young as long as possible. Our mission is to have fun while moving about the earth. [...]When we finally return to dry land for good, we hope to have seen most of the worlds shore line and experienced things that can only be experienced at 5 knots Of course if we find a place we like and stay there for an extended time, that's ok too.
We have two boys and two grandson's and several friends and family of all ages. Our hope is that those we know will decide to spend some time with us. Life is enjoyed most when you share it with those your closest to.
