After an all night crossing we went out to dinner at the only restaurant in town. 4 dinners 4 beverages and $20.00 later, we were back on the boat watching a movie. I fell asleep at 8:30 and 11 hours latter I woke up. Feels good to sleep.
Becky has lots of photos and videos to update, but the marinas e-mail is slow so we'll start with this. The photo looks like snow but in fact is salt. As the tide comes in and out of this big flat area of land, the water evaporates and the salt is left. After several tides you are left with a thick layer of salt.
Becky and Jim have been throwing rocks on the salt to see if they can break through to the water below. Later that day Connie and I walked across a small section of salt over water as we were on a peninsula and did not want to walk back around to get to the other side. It was cracking and we were glad to make it to the other side without having to see how deep the water was. Reminds me of playing on a frozen lake as a kid.
Soon we will head to Copper Canyon by train and walk on real snow.

In this video, we are toasting to our friends and family, and the Sea of Cortez!
After ten years of planning a trip around the world, we have given up our life on land to head to bluer pastures with the hopes of staying young as long as possible. Our mission is to have fun while moving about the earth. [...]When we finally return to dry land for good, we hope to have seen most of the worlds shore line and experienced things that can only be experienced at 5 knots Of course if we find a place we like and stay there for an extended time, that's ok too.
We have two boys and two grandson's and several friends and family of all ages. Our hope is that those we know will decide to spend some time with us. Life is enjoyed most when you share it with those your closest to.
