Street Vendors

Part of going to a tourist city in Mexico is dealing with the street vendors. Every place you go someone is trying to sell you something. For the most part the vendors are very friendly, but you can't buy from everyone, and you must say no several times before they move along. Becky always wants to make people feel special, so when a vendor comes up to her, she talks to them, tells them how nice there stuff is and for the most part leads them on for awhile, then sends them on there way. She tells me it's like shopping without the walking. Just go to lunch and the store comes to you one at a time. When it comes to street vendors, I guess Becky's glass is half full and mind is half empty! In small towns, the people don't see gringos as a target. You get to see how people in Mexico really live - no English, dusty streets, nice people. I can hardly wait.

When I was in my early 20's my brother Jeff bought a Thing VW. He thought he was so cool! Well, here in Mazatlan they have them all over as a taxi. They have taken off the roof, all the doors and trunk. They put a special hard top so you can hold onto the bars so you don't fly out. It usually holds four passengers.
We are now leaving Mazatlan (4 pm) and heading for Isla Isabel which is 85 miles away. This is one over night, we should be there in the morning. Sorry, no photos or video for awhile.
