Denny's Bad Day

I just have to share this day because Denny doesn't have bad days. It all started in the morning when we were ready to leave Chacala and we were going to pull up our stern anchor. Denny told me how it was going to work, but instead of waiting for help he decided to start the process without me. He pulled in the stern anchor as far as he could. This started a yo yo effect - jerk from the bow, then jerk from the stern. I went up top to see what he was doing, then all of a sudden SNAP. Our brand new "Quick Line" stern anchor line broke. Now we were drifting sideways to all the boats. We called Jim on Sound Effect and asked for assistance. He put on his scuba tank and dove for the line. We had to wrap it around the electric winch in order to pull the anchor up. With that behind us we were heading to Bahia De Jaltemba. When we got there we anchored at Isla la Pena where there was somewhat of a north protection. We were getting the dinghy ready to cross the small bay to Bahia De Jaltemba, when Denny decided to fill the dinghy tank, he did but forgot to put the lid on the gas tank, a wave rolled us and the gas spilled. I told Denny he should stop now, go to bed and start over tomorrow. We picked up the Merritt's and headed to shore where it was packed with tourists all over the beach. We got all got shrimp & fish on a stick, that wasn't enough, so we ate at a restaurant. When we got back to the boat, we put the dinghy back on the the bow, and decided to play Sequence (a board game) which I never win. But because it wasn't Denny's day, I won 4 straight games, then a wave rolled us and said to Denny, "I smell gas". Sure enough, Denny forgot to put the dinghy gas tank away and it spilled again. He went to clean it up and knocked over his beer and the beer glass (we just bought a souvenir beer mug) broke into pieces. He went to clean that up and knocked the top of his head which started a huge welt, I thought he was going to pass out! I told him to go below before he falls off the boat and I'd clean things up.
